Author's name written by a prior owner to the title page. 'The Times' is a satire poem, denouncing the vices of the aristocracy, with most emphasis and indignation placed on homosexuality. In the poem, Churchill alludes to several homosexuals known to him, so it can be believed that one of them personally offended him, hence this scathing attack on homosexuality. Written by Charles Churchill, a noted English satirist. Disbound. Externally, the outer leaves are age-toned. Last leaf is detached but present, with edgewear. A few light marks to the outer leaves. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the odd spot and odd light mark. Half-title and title page are lifting to the head but remain firm. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
