WRIGHT, MAURICE DELPRATT - The Jeffrey Method of Horse Handling an Introduction to a New Approach to the Handling of Horses

Australia: R.M. Williams, 1975. Second Printing; Hardcover. Pages are clean and tight. Extensively illustrated with 75 of b/w photographs and drawings. This method was developed by the Australian Kel Jeffrey in the early part of the century; he had no previous experience with horses. He was on a big cattle property resting up. All the stockmen had gone out herding one day, there was one horse left that he was told could not be broken. When they came back that afternoon he was riding the horse to the amazement of the stockmen. Kel Jeffrey's obvious mastery of horse training shines through every page of this book. His famous horse training technique is designed to get the horse to follow his movements and to turn to him within 30 minutes of starting training with a completely unbroken animal! Jeffery used his 'Advance & Retreat' principle which is a gentle method of instruction since Jeffrey hated any form of cruelty to horses. A classic in Australian Natural Horsemanship!
