Allegorical frontispiece to Noel Chomel's Algemeen huishoudelijk-, natuur-, zedekundig-, en konst- woordenboek a vocabulary concerning the care of the house. The illustration shows women engaged in home activities, assisted by a muse and some children playing in the foreground. Early state, before the lettering of the publisher, added in the 1770's when the vocabulary was published.Signed and dated on the bottom left corner: J. Punt inv. et fecit 1742. Engraving and etching on paper with some margins; plate mark: 227 x 169 mm, total: 257 x 189 mm; state I/2 (?) before lettering; a repaired tear on the right margin, some rubbing and light dirt otherwise in great condition.
