Bust portrait in an oval, titled on top: 'CELIDE'and inscribed below on a cartouche: 'GESCHIEDENIS VAN DE MARQUISINNE DE BLIVILLE.' Written by M. Motte (fl. 1775), the novel 'Célide, ou Histoire de la marquise de Bliville' was published in two volumes in The Hague and in Paris. Possibly, this portrait was included in the edition. Date of print 1775/6, published in The Hague, Paris. Engraving and etching on paper, trimmed close to plate on the right side; total: 175 x 95 mm; in very good condition.
