Ed. de Neve is the pseudonym of writer and journalist Jean Lenglet (1889-1961). Jean Lenglet was a volunteer in the French foreign legion. This novel tells the story of a newlywed French worker, growing into a hero, but losing his illusions in the trenches. Known to specialists in literary history because he was briefly married to Jean Rhys, the now-celebrated author of Wide Sargasso Sea.
