XXIV, 144 pp. Numerous pencil annotations in the text, otherwise in good condition. * Latin text, with introduction in French and French subheadings. No full French translation. Pierre Dubois (Petrus de Bosco), lawyer in Coutances, wrote his De recuperatione terre sancte in 1306. As a nationalist and royalist he was determined that peace between the kingdoms in Europe could best be realised under the leadership of the French King (Philip the Fair) and that the Holy Land should be in control of the French king instead of the pope.
