Complete in three volumes. This work is the second series of Theodore Hooks' 'Sayings and Doings', a collection of short stories. The first series was published in 1823, and he wrote the nine total volumes whilst he was confined in a sponging-house. Containing 'The Sutherlands', 'The Man of Many Friends', 'Doubts and Fears', and 'Passion and Principle&apos. Written by Theodore Hook. Hook was a man of letters and composer. He is well known for his practical jokes, especially for the Berners Street hoax of 1810. Hook was also the recipient of the first ever postcard, which he probably sent to himself. In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Some fading to the spines. A little rubbing the spines, boards, and extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
