A hermit reading the bible, seated at a table in front of a shed. On the right a still life in the open air. This is the fourth state, in outstanding condition. Signed on the bottom left: 'I. Covens et C. Mortier Excudit.' Etching on laid paper, with some margins; plate mark: 333 x 219 mm, total: 347 x 228 mm; state IV/4, Hollstein 14, Bartsch 14; in very good condition.
