George Gilfillan was a poet in his own right, who edited and wrote numerous volumes on early British poets. The work of William Collins are split under the headings: Oriental Eclogues, Ode, Description and Allegorical, Miscellaneous Piece. Warton's poems are under the titles: Miscellaneous Pieces, Inscriptions, Translation and Paraphrases, Odes, Sonnets, Humorous Pieces. With numerous poems by Oliver Goldsmith, including The Deserted Village, The Hermit, The Double Transformation, A New Simile, Stanzas on Woman etc. A lovely example of these 18th and 19th century poets. In a full morocco binding. Externally generally smart. Rubbed to the head and tail of the spine, with rubbing also to the raised bands and extremities. Internally firmly bound.
