Complete in two volumes bound in one. Anonymously published. An imitation of 'Attic Nights' by Aulus Gellius, a work the touches upon grammar, philosophy and history among other subjects. With the title of this work translating into English as 'Parisian Nights' i homage to Gellius' work. In a similar vein to 'Attic Night' this work is comprised of a series of curious and amusing tales. In a full calf binding. Externally rubbed to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities, resulting in loss to the backstrip. Evidence of label removal to the front board. Cracks to the tail of the backstrip, with a small amount of loss to the spine label. Front and rear hinges are strained. Internally generally firmly bound, strained in places. Pages are lightly cockled with the occasional spot. Ink inscription and stamp to the title page of each volume bound in this copy. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
