With the previous owners ink inscription to the front pastedown 'David Spinney. July 1950&apos. With a newspaper clipping to the rear endpaper being the obituary of Professor of Conrad Gill, the author of this work. Alongside this, to the rear endpaper there are series of notes, iin reference to numerous passages in the text. These correlate with several underlined passages throughout the volume. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lightly bumped to the head and of the spine and also to the extremities. Spotting to the top edge and to the fore edge.
