'Le Moniteur Universel' was a French newspaper founded by Charles-Joseph Panckoucke in 1789 under the title 'Gazette Nationale ou Le Moniteur Universel&apos. Whilst the newspaper ceased publication in 1868, it was for a long time the official journal of the French government and at times a propaganda publication, especially under the Napoleonic regime. Indeed, the magazine was the main French newspaper during the French Revolution with a large circulation throughout France and the rest of Europe, and also was circulated in America during the French Revolution. In a full tree calf binding with attractive patterned textblock. Written in the original French. This volume contains issues no.275 (from the 1st October 1792) to no. 305 (the 31st October 1792). In a tree calf binding with gilt detailing to the spine. Externally very smart with minor shelfwear. Upper extremity of front board slightly cocked. Slight fading to spine. Minor handling marks to front board. Front hinge strained with front free-endpaper partially detached the head of gutter. Internally firmly bound. Pages age toned but bright and clean throughout. The odd faint handling mark. Very faint offsetting to rear endpapers. Small loss to upper fore edge of title page. Creasing to rear free-endpaper. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
