This collection of nursery rhymes, tales, and jingles, combine all of the most popular rhymes from childhood. Some include 'Baa Baa Black Sheep', 'Girls and Boys Come Out to Play', 'Humpty Dumpty', and 'Jack and Jill&apos. Also included in this volume are some rhymes that have fallen out of fashion, and so offers an interesting insight into childhood in the mid nineteenth century. With illustrations throughout. Undated, dated using Copac. In the original publisher's cloth binding with gilt decoration to the boards. Amateurish repair to the spine, with paper pasted to reinforce the joints. Title is handwritten to the spine. Minor shelfwear to the boards. A very little lifting to the head of the spine to the rear joint. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Blind stamp to the tail of the front endpaper, 'M. Penny Frome, Bookseller Stationer&apos. Label to the rear pastedown, 'Bound by Westley's & Co London&apos. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, the binding is strained in places.
