First edition of the author's first novel. 8vo. orange cloth spine, letters stamped in gold and silver gilt to spine, grey-blue paper boards, author's name stamped in silver gilt to upper board, publisher's device sblind-stamped to lower board, top-edge stained orange. Bookplate to front pastedown. This is a near fine copy, showing just a sliver of sunning to top-edges of boards and spine, else clean and fresh. In a crisp, bright dust jacket which is lightly edgeworn at spinal ends, with a few small abrasions at the transition from the spine to lower panel; it is just about near fine. .
