A politically fuelled eighteenth century pamphlet, written anonymously and addressed to the 'Whigs and Well-Affected Tories&apos. This work charges that criticism of George II strengthens the Pretender's (James Stuart) cause. Two editions of this work appeared in this year by the same publisher. This work is a copy of ESTC no. N24599 and has the ornament on the title page of a face flanked by two cupids. There was another edition of 1744 issued by J Roberts and another copy printed in Dublin for Joshua Kinnier. This edition is closely cropped to the bottom edge in some places, affecting the occasional catch-word and printer's signature mark. The author of this work is unknown. To the entry for the 1745 edition on the ESTC it is noted that there is a manuscript note 'By Mr. Gordon&apos. In paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Loss to the paper wraps at the head of front wrap. Minor chipping to the extremities. Several light tidemarks to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with light scattered spots to the first and last few pages and the odd spots to textblock. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
