FIRST EDITION. 8vo, pp. viii, , 185 [186 blank], including half-title, contemporary polished calf, red morocco label; spine very slightly dried, upper joints very slightly cracked, but a very good copy. With the autograph "P. Haggitt 1799" at the top of the title-page. This translation of Villette's Essai sur la felicite de la vie a-venir is attributed in various library catalogues to a "Miss Hunt." The translation was reprinted in 1794 (twice) and 1800. ESTC T104362 locates copies in the BL, the Bodleian, Merton College, Oxford; California Berkeley, and Bridwell Library, SMU.
