Those concerned about climate change may find this passage from page 49 to be of interest: "1952-53 will certainly be remembered as a very mild winter. At least one long-standing record was broken when no below zero readings were recorded before January 3. As a result of this sudden shifting of the banana belt to north of the 49th parallel, the College hockey team was very slow in forming." This from a time before development of Alberta's tar sands had kicked into high gear.
