Complete in three hardback volumes, a mixed edition set (volumes 1 and 3 are first editions, volume 2 is a second edition). 8vo (24cm by 16cm), xvi, 464pp; xxviii, 503pp (note: volumes 1 and 2 have continuous pagination). Text illustrations. Uniformly bound in burgundy cloth, gilt titling to the spines. The bindings of all three volumes are somewhat rubbed, each volume has an ownership inscription to the title page, there is some light foxing of the preliminary pages, one page of the index of volume 2 is torn with loss, and the binding of volume 3 is a litle shaken. Overall, this set is just about in good condition. Suitable as a reading, working or reference set.
