TAIT, JAMES - The Medieval English Borough: Studies on Its Origins and Constitutional History

Manchester, Manchester University Press. 1936, First Edition. Hardcover. Used, First edition. Very good hard cover (no dust jacket), from the collection of Susan Reynolds, a medieval historian, academic and tutor at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. Both Susan Reynolds and previous owner (John Burgon Bickersteth of 'The Bickersteth War Diaries' and the 'Papers of John Burgon Bickersteth', also awarded the order of Canada), have penned FEP. Book shows light shelf and handling wear consistent with age; wear and light creasing to spine head and foot, minor scuffs, and corners bumped and worn. Pageblock has age related discolouration, and foot is rough cut. Internally, pages are well bound; gutter break at pages 176-177 noted, but pages are secure. Pencil marks and marginalia remain extant, due to the academic recognition of Susan Reynolds. CN. Very Good/No Dust Jacket.
