Martial, (Paris, 10 February 1828 - Paris, 14 October 1883) was a pupil of the painters Leon Coignet and Felix Brissot de Warville, followed a general training in landscape painting, but also studied historical painting and portraits. He exhibited his work at the Paris Salon in 1846 and 1882.
