 1563258227,
Paris: 1938. Silkscreen/pochoir printed in colors. 54 x 41 cm. on sheet size 66 x 51 cm. Titled in silkscreen "Heavenly Bodies" in the lower margin. A reduced size version 35.4 x 26.2 cm. printed by Mourlot appeared in "Verve" (Vol. I, no. 2, 1938). Roethel, "Kandinsky, das graphische Werk," no. V.26. This scarce print is unknown to Roethel. The print is ostensibly based on a lost watercolor, according to Vivian Barnett in "Kandinksy Watercolours, Vol. Two, 1922-1944," catalogued at no. 1216 as "Comets for 'Verve' No2. She states that there is no number in Kandinsky's handlist for this image, which "is unusual" so it may have in fact been an original print and not a watercolor to begin with. Bright colors; paper age stained. .
