With numerous illustrations by Phiz (Hablot K. Browne). 12mo. 5-3/8" x 3-5/8". Some wear & soiling to wrappers, front cover lower corner a bit ragged. Lacking lower 1 cm of spine paper. Withal, a solid VG copy. Hannay was a respected Scottish novelist, journalist and diplomat, whose literary career was influenced by Thackeray & Carlyle, eventually becoming editor of the Edinburgh Evening Courant in 1860. Uncommon in the trade.
