Original printed front wrapper bound in. = The complete text volume (with two charts). With an editorial introduction explaining the background and purposes of the meteorological surveys on board of the Challenger, and of the published observations. Included are, for instance, observations on daily temperature fluctuations in open sea. An atlas, with 52 additional maps, is not included. Provenance: Bookplate of the Harvard University, Physical Geography Laboratory, with stamp "released", on the front pastedown. Boards a bit rubbed, otherwise a very good copy.
