Spine with four raised bands and gilt title. Marbled endpapers. Written by the French geologist and professor at the École des Mines, Lucien Cayeux (1864-1944). The work includes shorter chapters on the phosphates of Belgium, Taplow (England), Russia, Syria, Palestine and Trans-Jordania, and the Levant. Probably this is all that was published. A very good, clean, and attractively bound copy.
