Memoir of the pioneering female physician and gynaecologist, Dr Mary Scharlieb (1845-1930), who was the first woman to be elected to the honorary visiting staff of a hospital in Britain and one of the most distinguished women in medicine of her generation. Pp.xii/239, portrait frontispiece, gift message "To Mother from Alfred, in memory of Dr Mary Scharlieb's visit to Blylingate House, Beccles to address the members of the Suffolk Medicine Society, July 11 1924" to front free endpaper, foxing to endpapers and occasionally throughout. Blue cloth, gilt title to spine, gilt initials roundel to fornt board, wear to top and tail of spine. Good.

Return of goods
