BURROUGHS, Edgar Rice - Tanar of Pellucidar New York, Metropolitan Books, 1929. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Bright blue cloth with black lettering, pictorial dust jacket. 312pp. Frontispiece. Very good/very good. Miniscule blind-embossed ownership imprint on rear flyleaf; jacket a bit edgeworn, with tiny chips at spine head/tail, and bright but for sunned spine. A superb, tight and most attractive first edition of the third title in the "Hollow Earth" series. Paul F. Berdanier's frontispiece and wraparound jacket art are outstanding. Loincloth-clad Tanar and "the lovely Stellara" on jacket front panel look awfully like Tarzan and Jane.. A lovely copy of this scarce title. .
