BOHRER, Florence Fifer - John Mclean and the County That Bears His Name

Springfield, Journal Printing Company, 1931. Paperback. 8vo. Wrappers. 9pp. Very good. Lightly age toned, faintly edgeworn and with faint single vertical fold (not weakened). First separate printing, an offprint of this article from the "Transactions of the Illinois State Historical Society" (Publication No. 37). From the collection of Adlai E. Stevenson III (1930-2021), U.S. Senator from Illinois (1969-81) whose family were long-time notables in McLean County's county seat of Bloomington. Almost certainly his father's copy before him -- Governor Adlai Stevenson II (1900-65), two-time Democratic presidential candidate -- and page 7 margin even bears a tiny two-word inked comment in what appears to be his early script. Odd, unusual -- interesting. .
