Bright copy of this classic account of FRANKTON, the attack by Royal Marines canoeists on enemy merchant shipping in Bordeaux harbour in 1942. This book forms the basis of Jose Ferrer's feature film (1955) starring Trevor Howard. The striking wrap-around dustwrapper artwork is by Francis Russell Flint from his painting commissioned for the film. THE ORIGINAL EDITION IS SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
