Green decorated cloth. Inscribed by Griffis as follows: "For Master Winston George, for summer's reading by the sea, from his father's friend, the author. Wm Elliot Griffis. Ithaca, N.Y. June 25, 1909." The lettering on the spine and front board is largely effaced and the covers are quite worn and soiled, but internally clean. and complete. A very unusual Griffis title, especially inscribed. .
