Not wasting any time and following the death of William IV on the 20th June, this proclamation dated the following day states all prayers, litanies and collects should be altered to show the word "Queen" instead of "King", "Victoria" for "William", and "He", "Him" and "His" where appropriate. And "Her Majesty was further pleased to declare Her Royal Will and Pleasure, That in all the Prayers, Liturgies, and Collects for the Royal Family, the Words "Adelaide, the Queen Dowager," be substituted for the Words "our Gracious Queen Adelaide.""
