Illustration, floor plans, 2 foldout maps. Overall very good. Text block lightly age toned; first of two foldouts a bit rough, with neat archival reinforcement of delicate folds. A tight and nice first of this edition, being numbers 84 and 85 in the first series. Inoffensive ex-library (Wisconsin State Historical Society), with very few markings and none on the books' spines. Della Valle (1586-1652) was an Italian nobleman, a composer and musicologist who traveled widely and authored a number of accounts of his exotic travels. .
