On pale blue imprinted letterhead, Bangs replies cordially and of course humorously to a request from an admirer. In part: "..I have been resting for a month from the arduous duties which devolve upon those who write autographs for a living. I am very glad indeed to begin my work for the seasons new opening by sending my note to you for your collection. I am a collector myself and am most sympathetic when I meet with other sufferers."
