Antwerpen, Ioannes Sadeler I ( engraver - printer - publisher) , 1582 , suite of 14 engravings, portrait format, 240 x 200 mm, with large margins ( paper size 365 x 254 mm). All prints are signed in the plate by de Vos and Sadler. The first 10 plates are also dated ''1582'' in the plate. Some leaves are watermarked ( a tree lobed lilly with underneath a fish-like creature within a small rectangle - size 30 x 14 mm). ( tentative description). General quality is good, some small marginal tears (never into the plate), and some minor thumbing and staining. Description ; [1] Last supper. [2] Jesus prays at Gethsemane. [3] The arrest of Jesus. [4] Jesus before the Sanhedrin. [5] The flagellation. [6] The crown of thorns. [7] Ecce homo, crucify him. [8] Simon of Cyrene is made to carry the cross. [9] Crucifiction at Golgotha.
