REEDHAM ORPHANAGE - The New Asylum for Infant Orphans, Stamford Hill.

The New Asylum, c. 1850. 3 pages, 250 x 200 mm. woodcut illustration of the orphanage. Founded in Richmond by Rev. Andrew Reed, it moved to this Stamford Hill house in 1846 where it stayed until its new purpose built premises was opened in 1858. When Rev. Reed died in 1862, the charity was renamed in his honour. This is the bi-annual report with the result of successful candidates for entry voted on by the management and supporters> the age of the candidates ranged from ¾ year to 6½ years.
