London, William Clowes 1884 (2nd edition) lxxxiii, 250pp, xxxviii advertisements, double page coloured map of the exhibition 22x15, blue cloth Ex lib, one small stamp, cloth faded and marked, a few pencil margin marks, good thus. One of a series of themed exhibitions held in South Kensington in the 1880s - the Royal Albert Hall was used, and the remainder of the site is where Imperial College is now. The exhibition covered sanitary issues like water supply, food, and slightly surprisingly, historical clothing among other things. This catalogue lists all the many exhibitors, and has an extensive introduction setting out the different sections of the Exhibition and their aims and objectives.
