PARSONS RH - The Early Days of the Power Station Industry

Cambridge, Babcock and Wilcox Ltd 1939 x, 217pp. 24 plates, 5 ills 25x17, red cloth. Cloth slightly sunned, some foxing, good thus. Interesting history, with a good collection of plates. Babcock and Wilcox was a British firm established by the American business of the same name. Specialising in boilers, both for ships and for industrial power generation uses, they are now one of the world's largest specialist engineering companies. It's not clear if Robert Hodson Parsons was related to Sir Charles Parsons, inventor of the steam turbine, but it seems possible.
