Advert insert, printed on blue paper, tipped in prior to p. 401, noting the expansion of the next volume, adding additional towns from many other western states, as well as British Columbia. Some adverts with cuts. 7-3/8" x 5-1/8". Slight lean. Modest wear & soiling to boards & spine cloth. Rear hinge with old repair. Smattering of foxing. A solid VG copy. The first volume of the series was [apparently] issued in 1871. Not in Rocq, though see 11987 & 16753 for similar such publications by Bishop. Not in Quebedeaux. OCLC records 6 holding institutions [with divers editions]. ABPC & AmEx show no copies at auction these past 30+ years. Rare in the trade.
