Frankfurt, Christian Winter, 1876. 4to. 61 pp., eight lithographed plates of which two in full colour including the fine folded plate of a full sized Medusa "crambessa Tagi Hckl." in original size. Contemporary quarter calf over marbled boards. = A rare and finely illustrated work. However, this copy with erased stamp on title and several plates cut short with marginal repairs and one with a bit of loss, spine and binding perished, gutters discoloured. In all not a very nice copy, but the text and plates have no foxing. Not in Nissen ZBI, not Cat. BM(NH).
