Leamington Spa and London, Newcomen Society 1954 151pp, 20 plates, 43 other figures in the text, copy numbered 123 of the 350 printed. 27x20, green cloth over light green cloth, glt text to spine. Damp mark on front and spine, not affecting contents, browning to end papers, edges uncut and somewhat rough thus, overall a good copy. Originally a series of articles published in The Engineer in 1948, and then revised and issued as a volume as a tribute by the Society to Dickinson, its Honorary Secretary for many years until his death in 1952. He spent much of his career at the Science Museum, supervising the displays of early steam engines, and wrote biographies of Watt, Boulton etc.
