CLOUZOT Henri - Modern French Ironwork

London, John Tiranti & Co. 1928 [vi], 36 sepia plate pages 45x33, blue boards with blue cloth spine, glt lettering on spine. Boards and cloth heavily rubbed, with cloth splitting, light colouring to some pages, plates very good. Features the decorative ironwork of Subes, Szabo, Viret and many others, based on designs produced by firms that had exhibited at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Decoratives. Tiranti added a publisher's note pointing out an error by the (French) printer of the plates: "Through a printer's error the words "Deuxieme Series" appears on the plates which implies that the book is not complete. This is a misapprehension as this book bears no relation to any previous work." This was slightly undermined by the admission that a book of the same title had in fact been distributed at the 1925 Exposition!
