GRAY P (for the SOCIAL SURVEY) - The British Household: Based on an inquiry carried out in April, 1947

London, Central Office of Information 1947 39pp, many tables. 33x20, stapled card wraps. Owner's name neatly in ink on front, good thus. The survey had originally been done as part of a large research project interviewing housewives in relation to water heaters, but lots of data about household structures, access to piped water and facilities like baths, wash-houses and so on was collected at the same time, and was collated and published here. Analysis both by region and by income reveal some dramatic disparaties.
