Marsh presided over the convention which nominated Fillmore but renounces him here. George Law's letter is to Gen. Gustavus Adolphus Scroggs and another on the political crisis; Shaffer's letter also renounces Fillmore. See LCP. Afro-Americana 4071 for separate issue. First leaf with thin chip along top inner margin where removed from larger volume, two soil spots on last leaf, a good copy.
