University Press, 1876. 4to. xx, 628 pp. Original blind stamped green cloth with gilt title on the spine and large gilt floral vignette on the front board, and an allegorical one of the Geological Survey of California on the rear board. A very rare publication on behalf of the California Geological Survey. The title page states: "Uniform with the publications of..." said survey. Probably all that was published. The work inlcudes new taxa by Asa Gray. Front board detached, spine cover much damaged, spine split; library bookplate on front paste-down. Interior in very good condition. Not in Stafleu and Cowan, which is highly unusual.
