Pedro Vindel (1865-1921) was a well respected antiquarian bookseller in Madrid who purchased the Orientalia collections of Jose Toribio Medina, Canovas del Castillo, Justo Zaragoza, V. Barrentes, Eduardo Navarro, and others. Medina's collection was rich in important works on the Philippines, which ultimately ended in in the hands of Philippine collectors and national libraries including those in America, especially from the collection of Edward Ayer, (now in the Newberry).
