TOWN PLANNING COMMITTEE - Report on the Metropolitan Area of Adelaide 1962.

Adelaide, 1963. xvi, 304pp inc photos, plans, maps etc. Three large folding maps at rear. Gilt embossed cloth, 35x26. Bump top rh corner of cover, rubbing and marks to cover, else good copy. This was a major report on the city. Chairman of the Town Planning Committee was S B Hart, government town planner. The report considered population, land use, traffic, industry etc. It concludes with a Development Plan for the metropolitan area. Part three discusses future requirements for traffic and transport: mostly freeways are proposed but there is some dicussion of suburban railways and express bus routes. A fine report, very well illustrated. Uncommon.
