There is some minor soling & foxing to the dust wrapper with a tiny ink stain to its rear panel. The top & bottom edges of its flaps are a bit darkened. Half-title, title, [2] leaves & 212 pages plus colophon. Very good.

First edition of the author's first novel.

Inscribed by Grunwald on the front endpaper in the year of publication: "For Joan McMenamin -- / With respect, gratitude, and affection, / Lisa / December 12, 1985".

Joan Stitt McMenamin was headmistress of the Nightingale-Bamford School, a college preparatory school for girls in New York City, from 1971 to 1992. Very good .
