The front free endpaper has been torn out. The binding is a little shaken due to years of handling, but all pages are still fully attached. The text is unmarked. McCabe was a former English Catholic priest who left the Church and became a popular Freethought speaker and author. In this famous anti-Catholic work, he critiques the priesthood and vowed religious life in light of his experiences in Franciscan educational institutions. G.K. Chesterton included McCabe in his book HERETICS. Good .
