Cracks forming on the edges of the spine, though the boards are still attached and the binding is tight. Leather is generally scuffed, although the gilt detailing on the spine is still faintly visible. Early owner's flourishing signature on front endpaper. Pages browned and foxed with age, but otherwise, text is unmarked. Thomas Dick (1774-1857) was a Scottish Presbyterian minister and avid astronomer. This anthology contains four of his philosophical works: AN ESSAY ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF SOCIETY, THE PHILOSOPHY OF A FUTURE STATE, THE PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION, and THE CHRISTIAN PHILOSOPHER. Good .
