"Vysehrad through the Ages" is a largely pictorial history of a renowned monument and symbol of the Czech nation. An ancient hill-fort above the Vltava River, it went through periods of striking architectural activity followed by depredation and decay. Each generation seems to have left its mark "enriching, completing or demolishing the work of the preceding generation." The text is in Czech with summaries in German, Russian, English and French.
