Measuring approx. 8 cms x 10 cms. ‘The Wonderland Postage-Stamp Case’ as issued consisting of the illus. folder with Alice with the Duchess’ baby on one side and the publishers imprint an illus. of the Cheshire cat and Price One Shilling (post-free, 13d) on the other; the second part of this piece is the folded card of the stamp case with an illus. of Alice and the piglet on one side and the Cheshire cat’s grin on the other, inside are 12 stitched pockets bearing the value of stamp under the opening to each pocket, light browning to the folded card and some wear to edges of the stamp case. 40pp. pamphlet of ‘Eight or Nine Wise Words ...’ in lightly spotted limp wrapps. sl. torn to head of upper wrapp. with sl. loss and affecting a couple of letters of title, tail of spine sl. chipped. Without the original pink envelope.
